Lean Fabricating Workshops

The objectives of the workshops whether conducted "in-house" or open workshops are:

  • To pass over principles, practices and methods that has helped successful companies both within and external to the window industry.
  • To relate the principles directly to your company.
  • To equip workshop participants with the means - including working documents and forms - to introduce lean fabricating into your company.
  • To benchmark your company comparing your measures with the "best in class".
  • To address issues and problems in your company using lean methods.
  • To develop an action plan that will provide the opportunity for serious and continual improvement for your company.

Manufacturers attending open workshops are in addressed, anonymously, at the workshop.

Also addressed at the workshops are:

  • The history of, and reasons why, lean principles, practices and methods have been developed. Why lean fabricating is so important in the window industry now.
  • All the terms that you will hear used (such as Kaizen) are carefully explained in plain English.

The lean fabricating workshops are suitable for anyone in companies involved in window manufacturing. There are also associated workshops for those involved in logistics and installation.

The open workshops are held over a complete day and the cost includes refreshments and lunch. A manual is supplied to all participants.

The duration of in-house workshops will vary with the needs of each company. David will conduct these out of normal working hours, e.g. Saturdays, if appropriate.
